Technology and the Classroom
Using technology in the classroom is something I've been familiar with since my freshman year of college. A lot of courses I've been in have used Blackboard/MyClasses for discussions, assignments, and quizzes. Blackboard is very useful for both professors and students because it allows everyone to interact in discussions outside of the classroom. A lot of my classes have also been in a lab setting where computers are used in every class. Access, Peachtree, Microsoft Visio, and Microsoft Excel are just a few of the programs that I've used in my accounting classes. Recently, LinkedIn has become a very popular tool which many of my professors use to connect with alumni and help current students network. When it is time for me to study, I use the computer to take online quizzes and review PowerPoint's and flashcards. It has been very useful to take the online quizzes that are offered on many of the textbook websites. Overall, I think technology has been very beneficial for the classroom. It has opened up many doors for the students and professors to interact. There are also opportunities for students to get experience using programs that they would see in the workforce.

Accounting and Technology
In today's society the majority of us use a computer on a daily basis. This includes those of us who have a career in which a computer has become a necessity. Computers and technology have made a large impact on the accounting industry. With all of the new software and applications, virtually all accounting is now paperless. Certain technology has made it easier and more efficient for people to work with their clients. The following video shows how certain technology and databases has allowed the company to assist their clients more often and ensure greater protection.

My Go-To Website
One of my favorite websites is Wall Street Journal Online because it provides everything and anything you want to know. There are articles for everything from the stock markets, sports, health and fitness, world news, and technology. Since I have a minor in finance, I have had to use this website as a resource for a lot of my classes. After using it for class so much, I realized it is a great resource for many other things. This is a great website for anyone who wants to be updated on the economy. If you are someone who has invested in stocks or are interested in how to begin this is definitely a site that will cover it all. As we continue to progress through our business courses, this website will become a great resource to turn to.

Allow me to introduce myself...
Hello!
Just to warn you all, this is the first time I have ever blogged before.
I am a student at Salisbury University, studying Accounting. Next May, I will finally graduate and prepare for the real world. I hope to sit for the CPA exam soon after graduation and it would be ideal to pass each part within a year. Hopefully, I will be able to start a career at one of the Big Four firms where I will be able to move on up once I have my CPA license.

I am from Baltimore, MD where I was born and raised. I plan on moving back to Baltimore once I graduate and hopefully move into an apartment with my best friend. I have a very busy school schedule so I don't have much free time, but when I do get some extra time I just like to relax. I enjoy reading and being with my friends and family. I also like spending time outdoors, especially at the beach because I am a true beach girl at heart.
That's all there really is to me! Thanks for reading!
